Community Notes January 12th
January 07, 2019
Work came to a stop over the Christmas period in relation to the Courtmacsherry - Timoleague sewage scheme. This week the works continue and a number of road closures will come into effect. The road under The Abbey, the road to Courtmacsherry and the road in front of the National School will all be out of bounds and will remain closed until mid -March at the earliest. Traffic will be diverted through the village and there will be parking restrictions in operation as was the case some months ago. Traffic to Courtmacsherry will be diverted via Lislevane. There will however for the moment be pedestrian access across the bridge leading to Courtmacsherry.
ChristmasLights Come Down
The Christmas lights on the streets of the village were taken down on Saturday last. This year the work was done a little prematurely and with good reason. This week all traffic will be diverted through the streets as a number of road closures come into operation. It was a case of removing the lights with care or they being torn down by the many trucks that will now be driven through the village. Two dedicated local crews worked on Saturday last to do the needful. The Christmas Tree and Crib at the village centre is still in place until next week-end.
