IHL V Midleton
June 11, 2019
Argideen made the long journey to east Cork last Sunday evening to play a league match against Midleton. Conditions were not ideal for hurling with most of the first half played in a torrential downpour. The concession of two easily preventable goals in these slippy conditions did not help the Timoleague cause as they turned around 2-06 to 2-04 down at half time. Midleton scored two further second half goals and they looked home and hosed mid- way through the second half. Some fine play from Cathal O' Donovan, Darragh Holland and Paudie Butler in the backline helped steady the ship. Victor Lovell and Matthew Lawton handled a lot of ball at midfield. Bill Fleming nailed a few long range frees and John Sheehan and Eoin Holland were ideal target men as Argideen thundered back into the game. Alas it was too late as the home side won on a score of 4-11 to 3-11. Team; Dylan Harrington, Richie Smith, Joe Murphy, Cathal O' Donovan, Brad Harte, Paudie Butler, Darragh Holland, Matthew Lawton, Victor Lovell, John Joe Butler, Eoin Lawton, Bill Fleming, John Sheehan, Eoin Holland and Finbarr Butler. Subs used; Eoin Bennett, Christy Crowley, Tadgh Collins and Michael Murphy.
