Ibane U16
November 14, 2019
Ibane Gaels U16 hurlers played Ballinhassig in the league final last Sunday morning. In a high scoring game played in front of a fine crowd in Timoleague it was Ballinhassig who came out on top. The men in blue got a great start having the silothar in the net within five minutes. Ibane responded with a couple of points and when Philip Flynn buried the ball in the net, there was only a point between the sides. Both teams traded points and Luke McCarthy scored Ibanes second goal but it was Ballinhassig that went in leading 4-7 to 2-7. Ballinhassig were very strong in the all central position and were on top again in second half. Sean Henchion and Sean O Riardon kept Ibane in touch. Micheal Ryan, Fergal Walsh and Cian O Sullivan were strong at the back with Sean Walsh, Philip Flynn and Olan O' Donovan always a danger up front. Ballinhassig won on a score line of 5-11 to Ibane Gaels 2-12. Well done to all players and mentors involved during the year.
