Tidy Towns Thanks

Molaga Tidy Towns Association held its annual bucket collection last week-end. This is one of two fundraising ventures that the local tidy towns group organise each year. Last week-end’s collection was an outstanding success. The officers would like to thank all those who contributed so generously to the collection over the two days. Thanks also to the many volunteers and friends of the tidy towns association who gave of their time for this worthy cause. As always, all monies raised will be put to good use to further enhance the picturesque appearance of the village as judging time draws near and the busy Summer tourist season approaches.

Photography Success

Timoleague National School recently took part in the INSPA awards - Irish National School Photography Awards. INSPA aims to inspire and ignite passion in students and increases engagement in the digital arts in primary school. INSPA gives pupils the unique opportunity to develop new and creative visual images and a platform to showcase their individual creative potential. Conor Creswell was Highly Commended. Méabh O'Sullivan and Guy de Foubert were finalists.

All-Ireland Win For Hannah

Heartiest Congratulations to Hannah Sexton who was a star member of the Cork Camogie team that won the All Ireland Minor A Final against Clare recently. Cork defeated their Munster rivals by 3-15 to 2-12 in a windy Mac Donagh Park, Nenagh.

This is the 3rd All Ireland medal the Sexton girls have won this year. Last month Katie won an Intermediate Camogie All Ireland medal for UL Limerick and Margaret was part of the Sacred Heart Convent Clonakilty Camogie team who also won the Junior All Ireland Camogie final.

The sisters all began their underage careers in both Hurling and Football with Argideen Rangers and continue playing with Kilbritain/Timoleague Camogie teams.

Ibane Ladies

On Tuesday evening the Junior team travelled to Cobh to play their fourth league game of the season.  On what was a beautiful bright evening for match playing, they defeated Cobh on a score line of 4-15 to 1-9.

The West cork U-13 development Programme kicks off on Thursday May 9th at 6pm at Doheneys GAA club. For more information or questions on this, speak to your coach.

In upcoming fixtures, the U14s compete in their league quarter final on Friday next, May 10th in Barryroe at 7pm.

The U12A team are competing on two occasions this week: on Thurs 9th May at 7.30 in Barryroe v O’Donovan Rossa and away to Kinsale on Monday 13th at 6.45  in Dunderrow pitch.

Please come out and show your support for the girls in these games.
