Carbery Silver Jubilee
October 24, 2019
The 1994 county senior hurling winning team from Carbery were honoured at half time of the senior hurling final last Sunday afternoon in Páirc Uí Rínn. On that memorable winning team 25 years ago, were Argideen Rangers players Barry Harte (captain), Tony Crowley and Mark Foley. Edward McSweeney was patrolling the sidelines and the opposition was Midleton. The previous year saw St. Finbarr’s defeat the western division by a single point. Carbery’s mission to go one step further in the ‘94 campaign culminated with a victory over a far more fancied Midleton team, one that contained members of their ‘86, ‘87 and ‘91 title-winning sides.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the only senior hurling title win by the Carbery hurlers, a function will be held in The MUNSTER ARMS HOTEL BANDON on Saturday 26th October at 7.30pm. Tickets are available to purchase by contacting a club officer.
