Micheal Holland Cup final
January 29, 2020
Argideen Rangers travelled to Kilbrittain last Sunday afternoon to play the Carbery hurling team in the delayed 2019 Micheál Holland Cup final. On a dry surface in winter sunshine, Argideen started brightly with points from Matthew Lawton and a couple of long range frees from Bill Fleming. It was an even game until two great goals from Finbarr Butler within a minute put daylight between the teams. The second was a peach of a goal when he collected a long range sideline cut from his brother Paudie, rounded his man along the endline and blasted to the roof of the net. At the short whistle Argideen led 2-10 to 0-07. They increased their lead in the second half thanks to three long range points from Eoin Holland, a couple from the hard working Darragh O' Donovan and a goal from Brian Hennessy. Final score Argideen Rangers 3-18, Carbery 0-14. Chairman of the West Cork Board Tom Lyons, along with Aaron Holland presented the cup to a grateful Argideen captain Michael O' Callaghan.
