Ibane Ladies Football Club
Registration for the 2020/2021 season will take place on Friday next the 31st of January from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in Timoleague pitch and on Saturday 1st February from 10:30am to 12:30pm in Barryroe pitch.
All girls under 8/10/12/14/16/18 and anyone interested in joining our Junior team are welcome to register. Registration for the year is €40 for juveniles and €65 for adults.

Church Collection: The Timoleague Notes and Comments published in The Skibbereen Eagle on the 17th. of January 1920 stated that the parish priest of Timoleague, Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Hea, thanked his flock for the generous collection from “clergy and laity of the united parishes of Timoleague and Clogagh for the starving people of Austria amounting to £34.”
Open Coursing: There was also a brief account of an open coursing meeting which was held at Barryroe the previous Sunday. It reported that it was an unqualified success. The winner of the main event was a dog owned by Mr. Denis Mc Carthy of Ashgrove. The beaten dog in the final was owned by a Mr. Aherne.
Butcher’s Advertisement:
A Bandon butcher had an advertisement in the paper which made for interesting reading:
Irish Pigs Heads (Tongue in) 1/= per lb. (1 shilling per pound for the younger generation!)
Irish fore-ends 1/6 per lb. (1 shilling and 6 pence)
Best Irish rashers, green 2/4; smoked, 2/6 per pound.
Spanish onions 3p per lb.
Oranges, lemons and apples 1p each, larger sizes one and a half pence and 2 pence each.
