Argideen Rangers Fund Raising Appeal
Many fundraising appeals are presently being organised by individuals and organisations during this time as all charitable institutions are feeling the pinch from a lack of public donations. Argideen Rangers GAA club would like to invite all its members, community and friends in the parish and beyond to join in its fundraising initiative to support causes close to Timoleague at this time. The club are hoping to raise as much as possible for Clonakilty Community Hospital, Pieta House and Timoleague Parish Church. The initiative is titled “Clock Up The Kilometers” and will take place over the week-end of May 15th.- 17th.
The idea is that the participants can walk, run, cycle, use a treadmill or stationary bike to clock up the miles/kilometers. You can track you kms by taking a picture and sending it on to chief organiser, Pat Burke (086 156 3683) so that the total distance covered by all can be recorded. It is all about getting out, doing some exercise and helping to raise funds for the three deserving causes.
One doesn’t have to be reminded of the fantastic work that is being carried out at Clonaakilty Hospital. There is scarcely a house in the area that hasn’t some connection with this fabulous community hospital. They do incredible work there and especially at this time they need to know that they have our unequivocal support.
Pieta House gain much needed funding from their annual Darkness into Light event and they need help to sustain the amazing services that they provide to those who need it most.
Our Parish Church has been closed for the past seven weeks but the bills with regard to overheads have to be paid and it is deserving of our support now also.
The club is appealing to all players, young and not so young and those in the community who may not be active members of the club to come out and get involved. You will be adding to your own physical and mental wellbeing as well as supporting three most deserving causes at the same time.
Further information can be had by contacting any club officer or by checking any of the local Timoleague sites on Facebook
