Ibane Gaels had a fine win in the Premier 1 Minor Football Championship against Gabriel Rangers on a dreadfully wet night in Timoleague last week. Team: Luke McCarthy, Sean Henchion, James Moloney, Michael Wycherley, Fergal Walsh, Conn Dinneen, Michael Ryan, Jack Lawton, Andrew Guinevan, Adam McSweeney, Sean Walsh, Sean O'Riordan, Ryan O'Donovan, Chris Walton, Philip Flynn. Subs; Geoffrey Wycherley, Adam Crawford, Tomas Buckley, Charlie Dinneen, Michael Holland, Gavin Sweetnam and Florence Wycherley. Their attention will now have to switch to the small ball and by the time you have read these notes they will have played Douglas in their second game of the hurling championship. 

Ibane Gaels under 16 hurlers lost their championship opener against Courcey Rovers in Ballinspittle last Sunday morning on a scoreline of 2:14 to 2:10. The panel will have to regroup quickly with an away football league match against Newcestown on Sunday morning at 11:30am.
