Golf Classic

Argideen Rangers juvenile club held an extremely enjoyable golf classic fundraiser last weekend at Clonakilty Golf Club in Lisselan. Over 40 teams took part over the course of two days in beautiful autumnal conditions. The organisers of the event did a superb job and wish to thank all who contributed to a great weekend. Main sponsor and local author Lucinda Riley along with a host of other local companies pulled together to lend a hand. Refreshments and snacks were a welcome bonus, especially Dan Moloney’s burgers! At the conclusion of the event on Saturday evening the following result was announced. 1^st. Andrew Whelton’s Team with 58 points; 2^nd.The Brewery Bar with 56 points; 3^rd. Finbarr Lynch with 54 points; 4^th. Whelton’s Centra 53 points; 5^th. Southcoast Construction 51 points; 6^th. Michael O’Callaghan 51 points and 7^th. Paul Holland 50 points.

  Emmett Daly had the longest drive and Andrew Walsh was closest to the pin.
