Two Generous Donations To Responder Group
Timoleague Community First Responder Group were delighted to receive a donation of €500 from Eli Lilly recently. This generous donation will help the group to purchase sanitizer and PPE equipment which will enable the group to continue training and responding within the community. Due to Covid restrictions, Timoleague CFR like every other group nationwide are not being tasked to incidents by the National Ambulance Service at present. The group are however ready to respond locally, should the need arise. There are four defibrillators placed within the local community at Timoleague.
Please note that in the event of a cardiac emergency one should dial 999/112 and send someone to the nearest defib where one can find phone numbers for local responders.
The group are also most thankful to Foley’s Centra / Inver Timoleague and Inver Community for their generous donation of €500 also. This comes at a time when fundraising activity has ground to a halt due to the present restrictions. The money received will be used for the provision of vital voluntary service to the greater Timoleague area.
These two donations totalling €1,000 are greatly appreciated at this time and Eli Lilly, Foley’s Centra and Inver are thanked for their generous contributions to the Timoleague Community First Responder Group.
Timoleague NeighbourFood Market
Following on from last week’s up- date on the challenges faced by the business community of Timoleague, it is uplifting to report on the establishment of a new enterprise in the locality. John Fleming, Aghafore, son of Richard and Una has set up NeighbourFood, Timoleague recently. He has developed an online farmers market where you can order your local products on line direct from the farmers and producers and then you can collect them on a Saturday at The Yard, Aghafore. John has converted The Yard into a large indoor/outdoor multi-purpose shed. There is ample parking to grab your box and go.
Locals will be well acquainted with the location, but for those without local knowledge, the postal code P72W628 will bring up right to the spot.
Each week you will find a great variety of seasonal products from over 34 local producers to choose from: organic veggies, fresh pasta, olives, cheese, breads, meats, poultry, salad leaves and super greens, vegan burgers, butter, milk, chocolate, real bread, tonics, sweet treats and pantry essentials.
This new initiative is a great way to connect community, food, families, local farmers and the environment. John believes it is a really sustainable way to shop and he aims to have as little packaging as possible as well as helping the environment by minimalizing food-miles.
He has exciting new plans in the pipe line such as tasting events, coffee stalls and food trucks onsite regularly so as to enhance your shopping experience.
He would like to remind the public that last orders are mid-night on Thursday for collection on Saturday afternoon between 1pm-3pm.
It is all at the press of a key. All information need can be found on facebook, messenger or on Instagram. Just click on neighbourfoodtimoleague.ie and off you go! John is wished well on this new exciting venture.
