Cork minor football

December 15, 2020

By the time you read these notes, Aghawadda twins, Sean and Fergal Walsh, will have represented Cork in the Munster minor football semi- final against Kerry in Austin Park, Tralee. In a year like no other, with a huge amount of training and preparation, it is fitting that the players get their just reward in a game that was originally pencilled in for March, and then last month, only for Covid to intervene. It is a great honour to gain a place on a Cork team and the countless hours given by John and Diane driving their twin sons to development squad training and matches has reaped its rewards. One should not forget the underage mentors and trainers at Timoleague under age and Ibane Gaels for their input into the twin’s development also. The Timoleague club has produced a number of star minors who wore the Cork jersey with distinction over the years but having two brothers on the same Cork team is a rare occurrence and a first for the club.  Argideen Rangers GAA club wish both lads the very best on what will hopefully be the start of a long career with Cork GAA.
