Match Action
June 08, 2021
Last Monday evening was a date in the diary that many looked forward to for a long while. GAA match action resumed after the relaxing of public health restrictions. The U12 hurlers of Barryroe were the visitors to Timoleague and claimed the league win. Both teams will play again on Monday night (14th) when they switch codes to football. Many of these players will also line out with the Ibane Gaels U13 hurling team against Courcey Rovers on Thursday 10th (venue TBC). By the time you have read these notes the Ibane minor hurling team will have played Ballygarvan and finally the Ibane U15 hurling team will play Cloughduv on Saturday June 12th at 12noon (venue TBC).
The adult Junior A footballers will have opened the season with a league game against Newcestown by the time you have read these notes. The same players will then focus on the small ball with the hurling league match against St. Catherine’s on Sunday morning (13th) at 12noon in Timoleague. The panel have two vital remaining fixtures from the 2020 season. They play Meelin on Saturday June 26th at 7pm in Donoughmore and Glen Rovers on Sunday July 3rd at 3pm in Brinny.
The club would like to send best wishes for a full recovery to Jack Lawton and Seán Henchion after they suffered injuries in recent weeks. Best of luck also to Darragh Holland who has made the Cork U20 football panel as they prepare to face Kerry in the championship on July 15th.
