Argideen Rangers emerged victorious against Dripsey last Saturday afternoon in their final championship group game. The game played in glorious sunshine in Ballinhassig, was a must win for both sides. Argideen started brightly and had points on the board from Seán Walsh, Finbarr Butler and John Michael O' Callaghan to lead 8 points to 2 at the first water break. Matty Lawton, making a welcome return from injury got a crucial goal just before half time to help his side lead 1-12 to 0-04 at the short whistle. Dripsey were soon down to 14 men after half time and the game ended as a contest with a Sean Walsh goal shortly afterwards. Final score, Argideeen 2-20 Dripsey 1-09. Ballygarvan await in the quarter finals in a game provisionally fixed for Saturday October 23rd at 4pm in Ballinspittle.
