Argideen Rangers adult and juveline GAA club held their annual general meeting last week. Adult club chairwoman Angela O' Donovan, welcomed all attendees back to in person meetings for the first time in two years and presided over her last AGM as chair as she was not seeking re-election. Secretary Sheila McCarthy detailed the main points from the numerous teams in the adult club in her comprehensive report. Sheila decided not to seek re-election after four years at the helm. Many voices were loud in their praise of both women who have done a huge amount of work since taking over their respective roles in 2017. Their efficiency, hard work and professionalism was noted by many from the floor. Treasurer Donie O' Callaghan outlined the healthy state of the club lotto, despite nearly €22,000 of prize money won in 2021, with online tickets driving much of the sales. Vice chair Denis O' Leary was elected chairman and wished well by attendees.
Timoleague juvenile club chairman, Cathal Dineen, outlined the many positive developments in the underage club in 2021, most notably the successful golf fundraiser. Fellow officers Gráinne Murphy and Breda Hennessy detailed the various matches, blitzes, Go Games and successful Cúl Camp which took place under the expert organization of Mary Harrington and the many volunteer coaches and parents.
