Local Ibane Players on Cork Duty
Two local Ibane Gael footballers, Fergal Walsh of Ahawadda and Ryan O’Donovan of Courtmacsherry were part of the Cork under 20 panel that played Kerry in the John Kerins Memorial Trophy at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Saturday night last. Cork were on the receiving end of a defeat by their arch rivals. Both saw action towards the end but it was a case of too little too late for the Argideen and Barryroe clubmen at that stage.
Games Postponed
A number of games fixed for last week-end also went by the wayside due to the weather. The Ibane under 17 team were to travel to Rosscarbery to play Carbery Rangers in a football league game on Sunday morning but wiser council prevailed.
Argideen were to open their account with a junior football league game against Bandon but this was also pulled.
There will be ample opportunity to play many more games when better weather conditions prevail.
