The girls’ football SciathnaScol team were in action in Dunmanway on Thursday June 2nd for a final against Castletownshend NS. It was a superb game and the Timoleague girls came away with a 5 6 to 1 6 victory. The whole school came out to welcome the team back with their cup and trophy.

On Friday, a team of 26 pupils ranging from 1st to 6th class, accompanied by 5 staff members, travelled to MTU for the return of the Cork City Sports. Each competitor was outstanding and they triumphantly returned home with 18 trophies and 1 Cup.
Amber Flag Award
To top off the week, word arrived on Friday afternoon that the school has been awarded the Amber Flag for the 5th year in a row. The Amber Flag is awarded by Pieta for promoting positive mental health and the school's work in the areas of creating healthy, inclusive environments that support mental wellbeing was acknowledged in this award. The flag will be flying proudly outside the school.
"These successes are the result of the positive attitudes and talents of each pupil from Junior Infants to 6th class and the commitment and hard work of each and every staff member. The local community is invited to the school on the morning of June 23rd to celebrate these and all the other achievements from this school year” said very proud principal, Mrs. Norma Harte.
Tidy Towns
Judging in this year’s National Tidy Towns Competition will begin on June 11th. The local committee have been informed that judging will take place as normal this year and at present the dedicated members and associates are busy so that the village can look its best for adjudication. All local organisations are being asked to support the final drive to have everything in readiness. This initiative was begun a number of years ago in pre-covid days and it was a resounding success. Named organisations are given a specific area to attend to and with the goodwill of all groups, Timoleague should once again be in a strong position to secure honours in this year’s competition. Residents of the village are asked to do a final check on footpaths outside their homes so that the streets will be litter and weed free.
