Hurling win
August 03, 2022
Argideen Rangers beat Ballygarvan in the opening round of the county hurling championship last Sunday afternoon in Bandon. A strong start from the Timoleague side with points from Sean Walsh, John Michael O' Callaghan, Darragh Holland and Darragh O' Donovan saw them race into a 7 point to 0-1 lead after 20 minutes. Ballygarvan narrowed the gap to 1-3 to 11 points at the half time whistle. Some poor decisions on the ball and wides let Ballygarvan back into the game and the sides were level approaching full time only for a couple of points from John Michael O' Callaghan and Paudie Butler to seal a 2 point win, 0-19 to 2-11. A full report appears elsewhere in the sports pages. Dripsey provide the opposition in round 2 on Sunday afternoon at 4pm in Brinny. All support is greatly appreciated.
