PJHC V Ballygiblin

September 06, 2022

Argideen Rangers played Ballygiblin in the final group game of the premier Junior hurling championship last Friday evening in Riverstown. A slow start allowed the North Cork men to lead by 4 points before parity was restored by the quarter hour mark thanks to fine points by John Michael O' Callaghan, Paudie Butler and a monster effort from Darragh Holland at midfield. Bill Fleming, Ger Crowley, Fergal Walsh and Andrew Guinevan were winning their backline duels. Further smart play by Seán Henchion, Finbar Butler and Darragh O' Donovan saw us take the lead with a half time score of 11 points to 8. The clever use of the ball was not evident in the second half and Ballygiblin stormed into the game. It was nip and tuck until the Avondhu men took the game in the last 5 minutes (and a semi- final place) on a score of 19 points to 16. Argideen Rangers will face Russell Rovers on Saturday September 10th at 3:30pm at the same venue.

With the JAFC currently paused, there is a chance of football action this weekend. Keep an eye on social media for fixture updates.
