Hurling V Russell Rovers
September 15, 2022
Argideen Rangers played the quarter final of the Premier Junior Hurling championship last Saturday in Riverstown. Russell Rovers hit the first three points before Argideen sprung to life with a first time pull to the net from Darragh O' Donovan. It was nip and tuck for the remainder of the half with a couple of John Michael O' Callaghan points and a Cathal O' Donovan sideline puck that sailed over the bar being the highlights. Timoleague went into the half time break down 0-9 to 1-5.
A storming second half start with super points from Cathal O' Donovan, O' Callaghan and Paudie Butler helped Argideen into the lead. Good defensive play from Bill Fleming, Matthew Lawton, Fergal Walsh and SeánHenchion who was having a stormer of a game at corner back. Unfortunately, it was one- way traffic for the last quarter as Argideen ran out of steam and Russell Rovers fully deserved their 1-19 to 1-12 win.
