Ibane Gaels had a good win over Carbery Rangers, 5-3 to 0-7 in Division 2 of the Under 17 Football Shield Semi-Final at Ardfield on Friday night last. This team switch code this week and they play Newcestown at Barryroe on Friday night at 6.30pm in what is a championship semi-final for Ibane.

The under 15’s are also in a rich vein of form at present. On Sunday afternoon last they made the long journey to Newtownshandrum to take on the locals in the Premier 2 hurling championship. Jet lag wasn’t a problem and they recorded a fantastic 7-14 to 4-12 victory which puts them at the top of their group and into the championship semi-final.
