Ibane Gaels

October 06, 2022

The U15 hurlers completed their hurling season in glorious sunshine in Timoleague last Sunday morning. They had a fine win over Sliabh Rua in the Premier 2 hurling league final with impressive performances from the Hennessy brothers, Luke Murphy and Jamie Collins. The U13 Ibane hurlers had their moment to shine 24 hours earlier with a great win over Sam Maguire’s in the Division 1 hurling league final.

In football, the U17 team beat Macroom 1-22 to 3-7 in the Division 2 Shield playoff on Saturday evening in Enniskeane. This game will be remembered for the impressive tally of points scored by Ibane. They will not have fond memories of the goals conceded. There were some great performances by Olan O’Donovan in particular but also by Ronan Coakley, Charlie Twomey, Daniel Moloney, Joe and James Crowley. After the game, Fergal Keohane of Rebel Og presented the shield to Ibane captain, Danny Lawton. This group now turn their attention to hurling when they play Whitechurch in the county championship semi-final on Saturday 8th in Brinny at 2pm.
