Spring GAA action

February 06, 2023

Corn Ui Mhuiri:

This year hopes were high that Clonakilty Community College would do well in the Corn Ui Mhuiri, Senior football competition. The school team had a good representation of Ibane Gael players but came up short in the quarter final against Mercy Mounthawk of Tralee last week. The game was played in the 4G pitch at Pairc Ui Chaoimh and the Kerry lads were victorious on a 3-15 to 0-16 scoreline. Argideen were well represented by Philip Flynn and Charlie Dineen. Beidh la eile.

Hurling League Division 5:

Argideen will play in this year’s division 5 league. Their opening game is a home fixture against Aghada on the 5th. of March. Two weeks later they are away to Midleton. They play their old friends Russel Rovers in Timoleague on the 2nd. of April. Also, in their group are Dungourney and newly crowned All-Ireland champions Ballygiblin. Watergrasshill, Castlemartyr, Mayfield and Cloughduv make up the group. Nine games in all with plenty of action between March and June – a game every second week-end.
