League draw

Two evenly matched teams contested the opening round of the Red FM Division 5 hurling league on a dry sod at Lady's Well last Sunday morning. Argideen Rangers and Aghada traded scores in the opening quarter before the home side pulled ahead thanks mainly to some clever deliveries into the forward line. Philip O' Flynn, John Michael O' Callaghan and Cathal O' Donovan scored some great scores from play and Matthew Lawton scored a beauty from his centre back position. At half time, Argideen were full value for their 12 point to 8 lead. This stretched to 5 early in the second half before Aghada stormed back into the game and Argideen took the foot off the gas. So much so that the East Cork men led by a point with time up. Andrew Guinevan bravely won a free from half back and, facing into the wind, John Michael O' Callaghan converted from distance to level the game, 16 points each.
