Hurling win V Ballygiblin

Argideen maintained their unbeaten record and top position of the Red FM Division 5 Hurling League after last Saturday's win over Ballygiblin. The game was played in Mitchelstown and both sides traded points for the first half with some good scores from play from Darragh O' Donovan (before he was forced off injured), Seán Maxwell and John Michael O' Callaghan. The All- Ireland champions were reduced to 14 men for an off the ball incident and Argideen led 6 points to 5 at the break. The home side threw everything at Argideen in the 3rd quarter but some resolute defending from Bill Fleming, Colin Smith and Joe Murphy kept them at bay. Others to impress included Andrew Guinevan, Darragh Holland and Matthew Lawton. A smart goal finish from Finbarr Butler killed off the game and sealed a 1.11 to 0.6 win.  The players switch codes this week and will travel to Ballinhassig for a football league game on Thursday 4^th. at 7:30pm.
