Hurling league

Argideen Rangers played Castlemartyr in Lady's Well last Saturday afternoon in a Red FM Division 5 league match. The home side quickly found their stride with long range points from play from Darragh Holland, Paudie Butler (with one off the left and right side), Colin Smith and John Michael O' Callaghan. The East Cork visitors cut the lead with a well taken goal on the quarter hour mark and had another major just before half time to lead 2-08 to 0-9. They piled on the pressure after the turnaround and had 2 further goals before the Argideen fightback began in the last quarter. A great catch and a surging run from Paudie Butler resulted in a well taken goal from Finbarr Butler. Further long range points from O' Callaghan and Sean Maxwell were too little too late as the home side went down to a 4-14 to 1-15 defeat. Team; Dylan Harrington, Andrew Guinivan, Joe Murphy, Bill Fleming, Cathal O' Donovan, Matty Lawton, Colin Smith, Darragh Holland, Seán Henchion, Seán Maxwell, Conor Lehane, Paudie Butler, Eoin Lawton, John Michael O' Callaghan and Finbarr Butler. Subs used; Lorcan O' Leary and Ger Crowley.
The players will have no time to feel sorry for themselves with a must win football league match away to Castlemagner in North Cork on Friday June 2nd at 7:30pm.
