Hurling league

Argideen Rangers secured another two league points in Division 5 of the Red FM hurling league with an away win over Mayfield last Sunday morning. Best on the day were Paudie Butler, John Sheehan, Ger Cowley and Matthew Lawton. The game was notable for the return to playing fields of John Sheehan, Jack Lawton and Daniel Hurley. A win in the final league game against Cloughduv might be enough to secure a league final berth. Team; John Sheehan, Andrew Guinevan, Ger Cowley, Bill Fleming, Colin Smith, Matthew Lawton, Sean Henchion, Sean Maxwell, Cathal O' Donovan, Darragh Holland, Paudie Butler, Finbarr Butler, Lorcan O' Leary, Joe Murphy and John Michael O' Callaghan. Subs used; Daniel Hurley and Jack Lawton.
On Monday the second football team played Barryroe in the junior “D” league at Barryroe. Fielding a mixture of young and not so young, they gave of their best on the night but had to give way to a younger and fitter Barryroe fifteen on a score line of 2-15 to 0-10. Great to see players wear the jersey for the enjoyment that games like these provide.
The first team players turn their attention to a very important football league game on Saturday 17th as St. Michaels visit Timoleague in the final Division 7 game. A win is a must if Argideen want to guarantee their league status. Please come out and support your team for a 3pm game on Saturday.
