Ibane Sponsorship
The Ibane sporting brand is now firmly established and is reaping the rewards of the outstanding input of parent clubs Argideen Rangers and Barryroe. The jersey is now readily recognised on the sporting fields of West-Cork and beyond and club players Ryan O’Donovan, Jack Lawton and Olann O’Donovan are products of the coaching expertise available at club level that played a vital role in advancing their sporting careers with Cork. Role models are key to success and present club players can aspire to representative honours also and follow in the footsteps of the local Cork stars.
Last week a new set of jerseys was presented to the under 15 Ibane team by Conor and Tracie Harrington of The Hatch Takeaway. Ibane chairman, Norman Fleming and club secretary Paul O’Regan were on hand to receive the generous sponsorship. The club is indebted to its sponsors and urges its support of all businesses who support the club.

It comprised of Sergeant Terence Casey together with Garda Maurice Flynn, Garda Patrick Roach, GardaWilliam Hickey and Garda Denis Moylan. The barracks continued to operate at Cregane until a new building was built at Mill Street in the village. The transfer took place on the 1st. of October 1937. Timoleague Garda Barracks continues to operate at this location.
A centenary celebration will take place at Smith’s of Cregane on Monday next July 3rd at 7.30pm. The event is organised by The West-Cork Retired Garda Association in conjunction with Timoleague Community Association. An open invitation is extended to all to attend this historic remembrance.
