Ibane Gaels beat Carbery Rangers in the replayed U21A football semi- final on December 23rd. They advanced to the final for the third year running which is quite an achievement. The team who won 0-09 to 0-06 in Ballineen included; Cormac McCarthy, Michael Walsh, Sean O’ Riordan, Fergal Walsh, Philip Flynn, James Moloney, Sean Henchion, Conn Dineen, Andrew Guinevan, Tomas O’ Buachalla, Sean Walsh, Adam McSweeney, Ryan O’Donovan, Olan O’Donovan and Lorcan O' Leary. Sub used; Diarmuid McCarthy. Waiting in the final were Newcestown, who Ibane had beaten in last year's final. They had regrouped after Ibane's first round win between the two sides and beat a strong Castlehaven side in the semi- final. The final was played on December 29th under lights in Dunmanway. The concession of three goals proved fatal and Newcestown won on a score of 3-07 to 1-09.
