Table Quiz
A fundraising table quiz for The Seven Heads Walk will take place at Pad Joe’s Bar on Thursday night, March 21st at 8pm. New signage and colour coding is presently being done as the very popular walk is getting a freshen up and rebranding. There are many loop walks also included in Timoleague, Courtmacsherry and Barryroe which branch off from the main walk. Tables of four at €10 per person will apply. There will also be a raffle for numerous prizes on the night and finger food very generously sponsored by Tracie and Conor will be served. An open invitation is extended to all to support this very worthy local community event.
Daffodil Day
The annual Daffodil Day fundraiser in aid of The Irish Cancer Society will be held in Timoleague on Friday, March 22nd. Donation boxes will be located in foley’s Centra. A Coffee Morning will follow on Sunday, March 24th. at Timoleague Community Hall from 11am. All are welcome. The Irish Cancer Society provides vital services to support those affected by cancer throughout Ireland. You are asked to donate what you can to this worthy cause.
Feis Maitiu Success
Jubilantsecond - third class pupils of Timoleague National School brough the Brid Goggin Perpetual Cup to Timoleague on Tuesday last. They performed the poem “In the Dark, Dark Wood” to the great satisfaction of the adjudicators at Feis Maitiu at The Father Mathew Hall, Cork. Feis Maitiu is a music and drama festival of long standing which is held each year from the end of January to the beginning of April. The festival provides a platform for performers of all ages to present their work before experienced, professional adjudicators. Congratulations to all the students involved.
Tidy Towns AGM
The annual general meeting of Timoleague Tidy Towns took place at The Community Hall on Wednesday night last. A large crowd attended as outgoing chairperson Val Burns thanked all members and the greater local community for the fantastic effort over the past year which contributed greatly to the winning of a first ever gold medal for Timoleague in the National Tidy Towns Competition. Val vacated the chair after her successful award winning year and she has been replaced by Marian O’Callaghan who brings a wealth of experience to the role as she has served in the position previously. Sheila Walton continues as secretary as does Denise Foley as treasurer. All are wished the best as they spearhead Timoleague’s drive for further success in this year’s competition.
