Seven Heads Table Quiz
Pad Joe’s Bar was packed on Thursday night last for the fundraising quiz in aid of the Seven Heads Walk. Twenty-four tables battled it out over eight rounds of questions under the direction of quiz master Eamonn Guinevan. A single mark was all that separated the first three tables with “Three Men and a Lady” comprising David and Shane Quinlan, Denis O’Brien and Cliodhna O’Riordan being declared the winners with 69 marks. In second place were Justin Time with 68 marks and The League of Youth were placed third on 67 marks.The committee wish to thank all participants and sponsors and those who worked so hard to make the night such a success. Hosts, Conor and Tracie were also thanked for the beautiful food served at the interval.
Easter Ceremonies
The following times should be noted for the forthcoming Easter Ceremonies at Timoleague and Clogagh. On Holy Thursday there will be mass at Timoleague at 8pm. On Good Friday, The stations of the Cross will be at Timoleague at 12 noon and The Liturgy of The Lord’s Passion will be at Clogagh at 3pm. The Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday night will be celebrated at Timoleague at 8pm. On Easter Sunday mass will be in Clogagh at 10am and in Timoleague at 11.30am.
GAA Lottery Results
There was no winner of the Argideen Rangers GAA club lotto jackpot last Sunday night in Monk's Lane. The numbers drawn were 11, 13, 22 and 30. Lucky dip prize winners included: Terry and Natasha O' Sullivan, Ardgehane; Saoire Harrington, Abbey St; Carmel Crowley, Cregane; Darren Platt, Carhue and Aoife Walsh, Garrettstown.
Next week’s draw will take place at The Brewery Bar on Sunday night, March 31st. at 9pm when the jackpot on offer will be €6,050. Tickets at €2 each or 3 for €5 can be bought at Foley’s Centra, Pad Joe’s Bar, Monk’s Lane, Charlie Madden’s Bar, The Brewery Bar or from any club officer. Supporters of the draw are also asked to avail of modern technology by using the club’s on-line link by visiting www.smartlotto.ie where one can avail of the user-friendly website. Daffodil Day Thanks
A huge thank you to everyone who supported last week’s Daffodil Day. In excess of €5,000 has been raised from the street collections, coffee morning, raffle, on-line donations and from the pupils of Timoleague National School. Thanks also to the sponsors for the prizes for the raffle and for the ball run. Daffodil Day has always brought the great community spirit that exists in Timoleague to the fore and last week-end was no exception.
Road Bowling
Congratulations to local bowler, Laura Sexton who recently made the Munster Rugby Development team. Laura is a member of the Clonakilty under 16 rugby team that play Killarney/Listowel in The Munster Final on Easter Sunday at Musgrave Park. She and her sisters Hannah and Ellen together with Geraldine Curtin have been selected on the Irish team that will compete in the upcoming European Bowling Championships in Germany. The Timoleague club will host the upcoming Senior Men’s Championship between Aidan Murphy of Brinny and Martin Coppinger of Bantry in Barryshall.
