Hurling league

Argideen Rangers lost their D5 hurling league game away to Mayfield last Sunday morning. The first half highlights included a fine goal from Billy Foley and a long-range point from Dan Hurley as Argideen trailed 1-3 to 8 points at half time. Disaster struck just after half time as a Mayfield sideline ball eluded the defence and went straight to the net. Argideen pulled up their socks and battled back to lead at the three-quarter stage thanks mainly to points from Billy Foley, Conor Lehane and 1-02 from Darragh O' Donovan. However, it was Mayfield who wanted it more and finished strongly to win 1-17 to 2-09. Team; John Sheehan, Bill Fleming, Ger Crowley, Fergal Walsh, Andrew Guinevan, Matthew Lawton, Dan Hurley, Darragh Holland, Cathal O' Donovan, Billy Foley, Seán Walsh, John Michael O' Callaghan, Finbarr Butler, Paudie Butler and Darragh O' Donovan. Subs used; Conor Lehane, Colin Smith and Joe Murphy.
