Argideen Rangers have concluded busy league campaigns in both codes. Their final hurling D5 match was against Aghabullogue last Saturday evening in Coachford. A disappointing first half performance included some good scores from Conor Lehane, Finbarr Butler and Matty Lawton. Argideen trailed 0-8 to 1-12 at half time. They played much better in the second half and their radar was much improved. Some great scores from Fergal Walsh, Paudie Butler and placed balls from Sean Maxwell meant a much more competitive half of hurling. A great solo run from centre forward from Sean Walsh led to Cathal O' Donovan finding the net. However, the points went to the home side on a score of 1-23 to 1-17. Team; John Sheehan, Fergal Walsh, Ger Crowley, Bill Fleming, Andrew Guinevan, Matty Lawton, Dan Hurley, Conor Lehane, Charlie Dineen, John Michael O' Callagahn, Cathal O' Donovan, Paudie Butler, Finbarr Butler, Darragh O' Donovan and Sean Walsh. Subs used; Sean Maxwell, Joe Murphy and Michael O' Callaghan. This was the last game before the championship opener against St. Finbarr’s on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Football championship will take precedence before that with the opening round against Tadhg MacCartharaigh’s on Friday July 26th. The second team footballers had a competitive game away to Carbery Rangers on Monday evening last with some impressive performances from Luke McCarthy, Adam Crawford and Christopher Walton.
