Premier Junior Hurling:

Argideen Rangers put in a superb performance in their final group match against St. Catherines last Friday night in Carrigtwohill. A gallant effort coupled with a superb attitude was not enough as they fell agonisingly short on a score of 1-20 to 0-21. All of this matters very little as the sole focus must be repeating that performance and winning the relegation final against Douglas on Saturday 21st of September. A full report appears elsewhere in the sport's pages.

Ibane Gaels:

The Ibane Gaels minor hurlers had an entertaining draw against Ballinora,  2-21 to 4-15last week in Timoleague. They will play Courcey Rovers in their next game. The U16 footballers travelled to Castlehaven last Saturday and came away with a thrilling 3-12 to 1-17 win thanks to a last-minute goal. Two days later, they travelled to Skibbereen to play home side O' Donovan Rossa in the semi-final. A 1-24 to 5-11 win means they qualify to face St Colum’s in the final.

Fixtures:

Argideen Rangers will play Clonakilty in Clonakilty this Saturday 14th at 1pm in the U12 hurling league final. Later that evening, the adult Junior A footballers will play Kilmeen in Castletownkenneigh at 6.30pm. This is the final group match with a win guaranteeing progression to the next round. The second-string footballers had a good league win over St. Oliver Plunkett’s last Sunday morning in Timoleague on a score of 4-17 to 1-16.
