GAA lotto Jackpot Winner
There was one lucky winner of the Argideen Rangers GAA club lotto jackpot of €11,150 last Sunday night at Pad Joe's Bar. Well done to Mary Finn, Ballinadee who purchased her ticket on www.smartlotto.ie. The numbers drawn were 2, 9, 17 and 18. Lucky dip prize winners included:Donal and Carmel Coomey, Burrane; Lorcan O' Leary, Carhue; Tadgh Crowley, Main St; Therese O' Keeffe, Cregane and John and Mary Deasy, Burrane.
Next week’s draw will take place at Charlie Madden's Bar on Sunday night, December 1st at 9pm when the jackpot on offer will be €5,000. Tickets at €2 each or 3 for €5 can be bought at Foley’s Centra, Pad Joe’s Bar, Monk’s Lane, Charlie Madden’s Bar, The Brewery Bar or from any club officer. Supporters of the draw are also asked to avail of modern technology by using the club’s on-line link by visiting www.smartlotto.ie where one can avail of the user-friendly website. Argideen Rangers AGM
Argideen Rangers GAA club will hold their annual general meeting on Thursday November 28th at 8:30pm in Timoleague Community Hall. It is the perfect time for members to take stock of 2024 and plan ahead for the coming year. New members are always very welcome to attend.
Tidy Towns Raffle
The annual Christmas Raffle organised by Timoleague Tidy Towns will be held on Sunday, December 8th. Tickets will be on sale at The Cross at the village centre on Friday next November 29th. Tickets will also be available from tidy towns members at Foley’s Centra on the same day. The general public have always been very generous in relation to this Christmas event which is one of two fundraising ventures organised by the progressive tidy towns committee. Reserve Sunday, December 8th for the Tidy Towns Christmas Celebratory Party. Santa has promised to attend and the official switch on of The Christmas Lights will also take place with Christmas Carols also being sung.
Race Night
Argideen Rangers held their annual fundraising race night at Charlie Madden’s Bar on Saturday night last. This was a resounding success and the large crowd present were pleased with the night's entertainment.The club would like to thank all who bought and sold horses and the many individuals and businesses who generously gave sponsorship. The event would not be possible without all the club members who put in many hours of volunteering to ensure that the night was an enjoyable one for all present.
Christmas Lights Appeal
An appeal to the general public to assist with the erection of the Christmas Lights is being made by the Community Committee. New and younger volunteers are being sought to assist the elders who have been doing this seasonal work for decades. Carol Service
Following on from the Memorial Service at Clogagh which was greatly appreciated by all who were present on the night, Timoleague Parish Council are in the midst of organising a Carol Service at Timoleague Church on Sunday, December 15th. at 7pm. The service will be co-ordinated by Fr. John Kingston. Both parish schools will be involved together with Clogagh Choir and both choirs from Timoleague will together usher in the spirit of the festive season.
Community AGM
A reminder that Timoleague Community Association will hold its annual general meeting at Timoleague Community Hall on Tuesday night next, December 3rd. at 8.30pm.An open invitation is extended to all to attend.
