Graveyard Rosaries
The rosary will be recited at St. Molaga’s Cemetery on Sunday November 3rd. after the 11.30am mass. Rosary will be said at The Abbey Graveyard at 2.30pm on Sunday, November 3rd
Memorial Service
Each November there is a special memorial service for those who died during the past year. Final preparations are now being made for this remembrance service which will be held at Clogagh Church on Sunday November 17th at 7pm. All parishioners and those who have parish connections who sadly passed away during the year will be especially remembered at the ceremony. There will be light refreshments served in the hall afterwards.
Argideen Rangers Lottery Draw
There was no winner of the Argideen Rangers GAA club lotto jackpot of €10,400 last Sunday night at The Brewery Bar. The numbers drawn were 4, 17, 18 and 19. Lucky dip prize winners included: Pauline Hurley, Ahamonister; Sarah Lane, Lisselane; Carmel Calnan, Mill St; Brendan Burke, c/o Monks Lane.
Next week’s draw will take place at Pad Joe's Bar on Sunday night, October 27th at 9pm when the jackpot on offer will be €10,550. Tickets at €2 each or 3 for €5 can be bought at Foley’s Centra, Pad Joe’s Bar, Monk’s Lane, Charlie Madden’s Bar, The Brewery Bar or from any club officer. Supporters of the draw are also asked to avail of modern technology by using the club’s on-line link by visiting www.smartlotto.ie where one can avail of the user-friendly website. Golf Classic
Argideen Rangers GAA club held their annual Golf Classic last Saturday in Clonakilty Golf Club. Keohane Readymix were the main sponsors and the club is very grateful for their support. Many club members and supporters put teams together, various companies sponsored teams and volunteers helped out on the day to ensure everything ran smoothly. Dan Moloney’s Master Butcher & Fine Foods supplied some delicious food for the barbeque whilst Foley’s Centra/Swift and Bandon Books generously supplied refreshments. Many other businesses and individuals sponsored prizes and helped to make it a memorable and successful day. Some photos of the day can be viewed on the Argideen Rangers Facebook page.
For the record, the men's winners on the day were; 1st.. The Brewery Bar 55 points, 2ndPaul Holland 53 points and 3rd Vincent O’Donovan 53 points. Ladies winners were:1st Connolly Dairy Services 54 points 2nd Crowley McCarthy 46 points. Junior winners were; 1st O’Sullivan Undertakers 51 points 2nd Danny Murphy 44 points. Nearest to the pin was Richie Fleming.
Representative Honours
Fresh from their win over Youghal last week in the under 14 county final at Cloughduv, five Ibane young ladies, Aibhlin Mc Carthy, Megan O’Regan, Aoife Walsh, Niamh Doyle and Aoife Harte have been selected on the West Cork LGFA under 13 panel. The girls are wished well and let’s hope it is only the beginning of a most successful sporting career for these talented young girls.
Ibane Minors in County Final
Ibane minor hurlers defeated Kilworth in the county semi-final on Sunday afternoon last at Bishopstown. They now await the winner of this week’s other semi-final between Ballinhassig and St. Coleman’s.
