Poc Fada

The Argideen Rangers Poc Fada took place on December 28th in very pleasant conditions with 43 teams taking part with many more walking. The jovial atmosphere en route from Courtmacsherry to Timoleague was enjoyed by young and old, despite some wayward shots along the way! For the record the prize winners were; Adult: 1st Sean Walsh, 2nd Niall Harte Underage: 1st Rion Keohane (Ardfield), 2nd Olan Walsh, 3rd Ross O’Leary. Girls:1st Hannah Twomey. The club raised €1400 for Timoleague Community First Responders who are hoping to install two more defibrillators on the outskirts of the village in the coming year. The proceeds raised will be a huge help to them in keeping their equipment ready for use in an emergency and keeping the current defibs placed in the community operational. They are currently attending on average one cardiac arrest a month along with other calls such as chest pain.

We are very fortunate to have such great volunteers in our community and as a gesture of appreciation, the club was delighted to raise funds for them.
