Daffodil Day Thanks
A big thank you to those who helped and supported Timoleague’s Daffodil Day on Friday March 28th. Music Bingo by Centre- Stage Karoke was an outstanding successs last Saturday night, a sociable event that got the community singing for a great cause. Thank s to all who sponsored prizes for the raffle on the night. To date €5,800 has been raised for The Irish Cancer Society between selling of daffodils, Music Bingo, raffles and on-line donations. Mile buiochas to all.
KWD Spring Clean-Up
Timoleague Tidy Towns is issuing an invitation to all civic minded people to join with them in the annual KWD Spring Clean Up this week-end. Volunteers are asked to attend at The Community Hall on Friday, April 11th at 6pm. Bags and Hi-Viz jackets will be available for collection. The Clean-Up will continue on Saturday, April 12th. with the collection of bags and Hi-Viz jackets at The Community Hall at 10am. You are asked to bring your own gloves, shovels and brushes. This is the first major project in this year’s Tidy Towns Calendar which will kick-start Timoleague’s challenge for honours in this year’s national event. A certain Chinese wise man once said “many hands make light work”. So, come out and be part of a winning team.
Bowling Notes
Timoleague are holding the South West bowling festival over the Easter Weekend beginning on Holy Thursday. Scores will be on both the Top Road and Lower Road. All are welcome. Margaret Sexton and her bowling partner Marty Mullen won the Pat Farrell Cup Final in Tullysaran Co Tyrone last week-end. This was the Final of 12 teams & Scores. Margaret bowls with the Armagh region while studying Optometry in Ulster. Any Boys and Girls interested in trying Road Bowling are welcome locally and free bowls and instruction will be given.
Cork Under 14 Ladies Football
Local girls Aoife Harte, Aoife Walsh, Aibhlin Mc Carthy, Niamh Doyle and Kate Collins play with Cork in the Under 14 A Munster Football Final this week. They are wished the best by all Ibane followers in both Barryroe and Timoleague and further afield.
Holy Week Ceremonies
On Monday next, April 14th. there will be a Community Reconciliation Service at Clonakilty Parish Church at 7pm. Mass of The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated on holy Thursday at Timoleague at 8pm. On Good Friday there will be Liturgy of The Lord’s Passion in Timoleague at 12 noon. Stations of The Cross will be at Clogagh at 5pm. On Holy Saturday the Easter Vigil Mass will be celebrated in Timoleague at 8pm. On Easter Sunday mass will be at Clogagh at 10am and at Timoleague at 11.30am. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt after both masses.
