Community notes May 3rd

May 12, 2025

Seven Heads Bluebell Week-End

The annual Seven Heads Bluebell Walking Week-End will take place on The May Bank Holiday. On Sunday, May 4th. why not enjoy a guided walk through the wood admiring the blanket of bluebells in full bloom before continuing on to Wood Point and taking in the lovely Fuchsia Walk. Those wishing to take part are asked to assemble at Courtmacsherry Hotel at 3pm.

On Monday, May 5th. there will be a guided walk from Timoleague to Courtmacsherry. Walkers are asked to assemble at the car-parking area under The Abbey at 11am.

Anti-Litter Challenge

The annual anti-litter challenge organised by Cork County Council is now taking place. The first period of judging takes place between April 28th and May 7th. The second period will be from May 12th to 21st. with the concluding period from May 26th to June 4th. Village residents are asked to keep an eye out for any litter that may be on the streets near their homes over the judging periods. Timoleague Tidy Towns are most appreciative of all the help that is always forthcoming from local people who go the extra mile to see that their village is looking its best at all times but especially as Tidy Towns adjudication time approaches.

Weekly Meitheal

The weekly meitheal organised by the Timoleague Tidy Towns Association is up and running and is extremely well supported. If you would like to help out in any way you are most welcome to join in on Tuesday nights at 7pm over the coming few weeks to help Timoleague gain the extra few marks that hopefully will position the village to make a serious challenge for further national honours in this year’s competition.
