Argideen Rangers had a fine league win at home to Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels last Sunday morning in sunny Lady's Well. This top of the table clash was a cagey affair and the teams were evenly matched in the first half. Some well worked finishes from the Walsh twins, Fergal and Sean along with a pair of fine two pointers from Bill Fleming (one from play and one from a placed ball) were the opening half highlights as the home side led 0-9 to 0-6. Argideen upped the gears after half time with Matthew Lawton burying a great goal after Finny Butler soloed the length of the field to assist. Further fine points from Darragh Holland (off his left), Fergal Walsh and a well taken goal by Danny Lawton allowed Timoleague to hold a commanding lead approaching the closing stages. Despite the best efforts of John Sheehan, Darragh O' Donovan and Seán Henchion, the north Cork rallied to narrow the gap. The full time score was Argideen Rangers 2-16 (2-2-12) to Liscarroll/Churchtown 1-13 (1-1-11). Team; Daniel Hurley, Finbarr Butler, John Sheehan, Darragh O' Donovan, Andrew Guinivan, Bill Fleming, Matthew Lawton, Ger Crowley, Darragh Holland, Seán Henchion, Fergal Walsh, Cathal O' Donovan, John Michael O' Callaghan, Jack Lawton and Seán Walsh. Subs used; David Deasy, Danny Lawton, Micheal Harte, Eoghan Guinivan and Donal Sutton. The team will travel away for a hurling league fixture against Sarsfields on Saturday May 17th at 3pm.
