Carbery Board Celebration

The Carbery GAA board celebrates its centenary this year. As part of the special celebrations there was a gathering of all the 26 clubs within the division and each club had a viewing stand that showcased the rich history of each club with photos, match reports and other club memorabilia on display. Argideen Rangers were well represented and stood proud among the others - not bad going since the foundation of a club in Timoleague back in 1892. The huge crowd present were delighted with the display and it afforded many to meet up with former opponents down the years where exploits on the field were discussed and debated perhaps in a more cordial basis. Kevin O’Donovan CRO of The Cork County Board and himself a proud Kilmeen/Kilbree club man reminded all of the enormous size of the division, remarking that there are as many clubs in the Carbery division as in the whole of county Monaghan.
