League hurling
An understrength Argideen Rangers team travelled to Páirc Tadhg Mac Cárthaigh in Riverstown to play Sarsfields last Saturday afternoon. The home side were too hot to handle in a 2-19 to 3-26 defeat. An even enough first half concluded with a five minute Sarsfields scoring blitz. To further compound matters, Timoleague were reduced to 14 players at the short whistle after the referee penalised a high tackle. Highlights of the game included a well worked second half goal from John Michael O' Callaghan who pulled first time on the run after a smart assist from Paudie Butler. The perseverance and commitment of the players in the second half must also be commended as they never threw in the towel on a sweltering hot day for hurling. Team; John Sheehan, Donal Sutton, Ger Crowley, Bill Fleming, Darragh O' Donovan, Matty Lawton, Seán Henchion, Fergal Walsh, Cathal O' Donovan, Sean Walsh, Andrew Guinivan, John Michael O' Callaghan, Finbarr Butler, Sean Maxwell and Mark Henchion. Subs used; Conor Lehane and Paudie Butler. The Red FM division 7 football league continues this weekend with a top of the table clash against Kilmacabea on Sunday 25th at 11.30am in Timoleague.
