GAA success
It has been a fantastic week for Argideen Rangers GAA club and the wider Timoleague community. Hot on the heels of the Timoleague NS boys' Sciath na Scol final win, Tom Connolly represented his school and community with distinction in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick, when he proudly donned the Cork Primary hurling team colours.
Donagh Flynn and Paul Holland again did their club and county proud with Cork's exit at the quarter final stage of the Minor Football Championship.
The club’s junior footballers achieved promotion to D6 of the county football league with a 7th win in a row against Nemo Rangers. The 1.10 to 0.9 win also guarantees them a league final.
Finally on Sunday evening, Timoleague village welcomed back a Cork All Ireland winning team. Team captain Aoife Harte of Ardmore, Niamh Doyle and coach Mary Harrington were central to the U14 All Ireland Championship win earlier that day (5.9 to 2.13 after ET) in Nenagh against Galway. Their Ibane team mates Aoife Walsh, Aibhlin McCarthy and Kate Collins were also valued members of the panel.
