Tidy Towns Meitheal
A record number of volunteers turned out on Tuesday night last for a meitheal organised by Timoleague Tidy Towns. Adults and children, many representing local organisations attended to specific areas of the village and surrounds that needed attention. Those present split into groups and a trojan amount of work was completed in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. After the evening’s work was done, all retired to the Community Hall where a well- earned cuppa, sandwiches and other savouries were enjoyed by all. Affairs of church and state as well as the evenings work were discussed and analysed and all gave a positive vote of confidence of Timoleague maintaining and possibly improving its position in this year’s National Tidy Towns competition.
Annual Duck Race
Timoleague Tidy Towns annual fundraising duck race will take place on Saturday evening, July 12th. This is one of two fundraising ventures organised by the local Tidy Towns committee and is eagerly looked forward to by all, especially the children. The event generates great excitement as the ducks float down the Argideen with the tide, under Church Bridge and crossing the finishing line under The Abbey. Ducks will be on sale on the weeks leading up to the race. Your support will as always, be greatly appreciated.
