Hurling League
Argideen Rangers' Red FM Division 6 Hurling League concluded on Sunday last with a 1-17 to 1-15 win over Balinascarthy. On an overcast and foggy morning with poor visibility, the teams were evenly matched in the first half. Points from midfielders Sean and Fergal Walsh being the main highlights for the home side as they led 0-12 to 0-8 at half time. The home side were finding scores harder to come by playing into the Clonakilty goal and seemed in trouble with Bal leading at the three quarter stage. A rather fortunate goal gave Argideen the lead with further points from Charlie Twoomey, plus a fine save from goalkeeper John Sheehan, helped seal the win. Team; John Sheehan, Joe Crowley, Ger Crowley, Donal Sutton, Andrew Guinivan, Matthew Lawton, Cathal O' Donovan, Fergal Walsh, Sean Walsh, Charlie Twoomey, John Michael O' Callaghan, Sean Henchion, Dara Walsh, Finbarr Butler and James Crowley, Subs used; Adam Barry and Paudie Butler.
