Kate Fleming Communication Award
The annual Kate Fleming Communication Competition took place at Timoleague National School last month. This event is eagerly looked forward to each year by the pupils of fifth and sixth classes. This year some thirty seven pupils took part in the event. Each had to recite a poem of their choice by heart and adjudicator-in-chief, Mrs. Noreen Minihan of Clonakilty was highly impressed by all the participants. In the end there can only be one winner and this year the honours went to Lelia Rees of Ballincoursey, a pupil of M/s Anne Mc Carthy. Present at the award ceremony were the late Kate’s parents, Kathleen and Peter Fleming who have been the driving force behind the competition since the tragic passing of their daughter in 2011.
Graveyard Meitheal
The Parish Council would like to thank the many volunteers who arrived for the meitheal on Tuesday night last at St. Molaga’s Graveyard. Great work was done and the last resting place of so many friends, neighbours and family was given a much needed facelift.
