Premier Junior Hurling
Argideen Rangers recorded an all important first round championship win over Tracton last Saturday evening in Bandon. A solid first half performance in the backline from debutant Joe Crowley, Matty Lawton and Bill Fleming set the foundations for the forwards to rack up an early lead. Points from play from Cathal O' Donovan, John Michael O Callaghan and converted frees from Charlie Twoomey, who worked his socks off on his debut, meant Timoleague lead 11 points to 7 at half time. Further second half points from Darragh Holland, Finny Butler and the superb Fergal Walsh at midfield set up a commanding cushion. Despite conceding a late penalty to the 14 men from Minane Bridge, Timoleague steadied the ship (thanks to a great save from goalkeeper John Sheehan) and claimed the 2 points. Team; John Sheehan, Joe Crowley, Ger Crowley, Darragh Holland, Bill Fleming, Matty Lawton, Andrew Guinivan, Cathal O' Donovan, Ferhal Walsh, Sean Henchion, John Michael O' Callaghan, Charlie Twoomey, Dara Walsh, Sean Maxwell and Finbarr Butler. Subs used; Paudie Butler and James Crowley.
