Community notes Sept 20th

October 08, 2025

Timoleague Educational Garden:

Now that the evenings are pulling in once more, the committee of the Timoleague Educational Garden wish to remind the general public that a full programme of events will be held from October to December. Many of the regular events will be returning and some new interesting ones will be introduced.

A history night which will feature local history is a new addition to the programme. There won’t be any guest speakers and the format will be dictated by the attendees – a case of going with the flow. This will begin on Monday, October 6th. and will continue each Monday night from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

The popular Games Night will begin on Tuesday night, October 7th.

The Gaeilge night will be on Wednesday night, October 8th. This was a new addition to the programme of events last season and was very well supported.

Get Crafty will feature on Thursdays, starting on October 9th.

There is no booking or registration required to attend on any night. All you have to do is show up and pass away an evening in good company. A donation for a cuppa is appreciated.

Sharks, Skates and Rays:

Danielle Orrell will give a talk on sharks, skates and rays in Irish waters at The Educational Garden, Timoleague on Thursday night next, September 18th. beginning at 7.30pm. She will outline local research on the subject and will tell how you can help look for mermaid’s purses. A €5 donation on entry would be appreciated.
