JAFC Defeat:
The junior footballers exited the championship last Sunday morning in Ballinascarthy after a 2-5 to 1-11 defeat to Kilbrittain. In a finely balanced first half, Argideen were down 5 points to 4 at half time after squandering many chances. Great work rate from Charlie Twoomey, excellent defending from Joe Crowley, some well taken points by John Michael O' Callaghan and surging runs from wingback Finbarr Butler were some of the highlights. A superb Darragh Walsh goal early in the second half breathed life into their performance, but Kilbrittain scored a penalty goal shortly afterwards. Substitute Darragh Holland, who was unable to start with injury, was introduced with 10 minutes to go and scored a fabulous goal and point. Another goal bound effort was well saved and that was the game. Coach Michael O' Callaghan and the management team of Jim Foley, Mikey Walsh, Declan Crowley and Niall McIntyre did all that they could and are to be commended for their meticulous preparation during the year.
