Seven Heads Breakfast Morning
Over the past few years The Seven Heads Walks Committee have held a most enjoyable breakfast fundraising morning at Courtmacsherry Hotel during the October Bank Holiday week-end. This year the breakfast can be enjoyed on Sunday October 26th. at 10am at Courtmacsherry Hotel. This fundraising event generates fantastic support and is one of only a few events that the hard-working committee organise during the year to raise funds for the upgrade of the very popular walks in the general Seven Heads area. Tickets are priced at €20 each and can be got from committee members.
Dublin City Marathon Run
Christopher Crowley of Cregane will be one of the competitors in the upcoming Dublin City Marathon on Sunday, October 26th. Christopher is raising funds for The Irish Cancer Society and he is seeking your support for this worthy cause. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukaemia in 2007 aged nine. He missed all of fourth class in Timoleague NS and was homeschooled. During his illness he received treatment at Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin and The Mercy Hospital Cork. After a year of intensive chemotherapy he returned to school and following regular monitoring he eased back to active duty as a student and a player at Argideen Rangers. However, in August 2019 a cancerous lump near his thyroid was detected, necessitating its removal. Early detection was of paramount importance and Christopher has never looked back since then.
He is regularly sighted on the roads around Timoleague as he prepares for this epic run. His mother Carmel is no doubt at hand to impart words of wisdom to Chris, she being a multi-award-winning runner herself. If you would like to support Christopher in this major fundraising event, you will find all the relevant information in his Christy Crowley Facebook Page.
